A few projects go beyond ink and paper; they become tributes to memory, place, and the people who preserve both. Recently, we had the honour of producing a professionally crafted hard back book for the Great Wyrley Local History Society. This publication explores the Great War’s lasting impact on the communities of Great Wyrley and Cheslyn Hay.
The Specs: A Hard Back Book Built to Endure
Sized at 170 x 240mm in portrait, the 344-page volume blends elegance with substance. We printed the inner pages using rich black ink on 150gsm matt coated stock. This paper offers a smooth texture, enhances readability, and adds a premium feel. Readers connect instantly with the century-old lives documented within.
To elevate the visual experience, the outer case features full-colour printing. Archival imagery springs to life through this treatment. A gloss laminate finish adds both protection and a subtle shine, creating a polished, commemorative surface.
Details That Honour the Subject
This isn’t a simple collection of wartime memories. Instead, it presents a thoughtfully constructed record of lived experiences. We used section sewing to ensure strength and a lay-flat design for comfortable reading. A classic blue ribbon marker contributes a sense of refinement and function, echoing traditional craftsmanship.
Preserving Memory Through Craft
Devotion is what defines this hard back book. The Great Wyrley Local History Society committed themselves to extensive research. They brought to light personal accounts, forgotten names, and the shared resilience of Great Wyrley and Cheslyn Hay during the First World War. Each page reflects their unwavering dedication to remembrance.
